Privacy Policy

Last updated June 14, 2026

Pagewell is built so that your documents never leave your computer. There is no server to send them to. This page explains exactly what that means.

The short version: The Pagewell app works fully offline — no accounts, no cloud, no tracking, no telemetry. The free web converter runs entirely in your browser; your files are never uploaded. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The only personal data we ever hold is the name and email tied to a purchase, and even that is collected by our payment provider, not us.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Pagewell desktop app, the free browser-based .pub → PDF converter, and this website (pagewell.korsund.com). “We”, “us” and “Pagewell” refer to the maker of Pagewell.

2. The Pagewell desktop app

The app does its work entirely on your own machine. Concretely:

  • No network requests. The importer, editor and PDF export never contact a server. There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no “phone-home”.
  • No accounts. You don’t sign in. There is no user profile and nothing to log in to.
  • No cloud, no sync. Your .pub, .pwl and exported PDF files are read from and written to your local disk only.
  • No auto-update channel. The app does not check in for updates on its own; you choose when to download a new version.
  • Offline licensing. Licences are verified on your device using a built-in public key — there is no licence server and no activation call. See the Terms of Service for the licence itself.

Because there is no server, we have no technical ability to see, collect, or recover your documents.

3. The free web converter

The browser-based converter is compiled to WebAssembly and runs entirely client-side. When you open a .pub file and export a PDF:

  • Your file is processed in your browser tab. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
  • A short list of your recent files may be cached in your browser’s localStorage so you can reopen them quickly. This stays on your device, is capped in size, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. We cannot read it.

4. This website

This marketing site is intentionally minimal:

  • No cookies. We set none.
  • No analytics or trackers. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no third-party scripts.
  • Self-hosted fonts. Fonts are served from this domain, so no request is made to a third-party font provider.
  • Hosting logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process standard request data (such as IP address and user-agent) transiently to serve the page and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not receive or store this data ourselves.

5. Buying Pagewell

Checkout is handled by our Merchant-of-Record checkout provider (e.g. Lemon Squeezy or Paddle), acting as the seller of record. When you purchase a licence:

  • Your payment details (card number, billing address) are entered with and held by that provider. We never see or store your card information.
  • We receive only what is needed to issue and support your licence — typically your name and email address, and your order reference.
  • Your licence is generated as a self-contained, signed key and emailed to you.

Please review your payment provider’s own privacy policy for how they handle checkout data and tax information.

6. Email you send us

If you email us for support, we’ll see your message and email address and keep it only as long as needed to help you. We don’t use it for marketing without your consent.

7. Children

Pagewell is a tool for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data a business holds about you. Because we hold so little — essentially the name and email attached to a purchase — such requests are simple. Email unclegrape1975@gmail.com and we’ll help.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how Pagewell handles data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
